Honeycomb anti-trauma flooring
ECO-HOLMAT: Playground safety surfacing with shock-absorbing interlocking elements for playgrounds
ECO-HOLMAT is an interlocking rubber paving system designed for playgrounds and outdoor recreational areas. The structure absorbs impacts, provides a slip-resistant surface, and promotes water drainage, while also adapting to uneven or sloped natural terrain. The open design also allows grass to grow through the surfacing, integrating the playground safety surfacing with the ground. ECO-HOLMAT is tested to EN 1177.

Critical fall height (CFH) of 2.72 m on grass
The ECO-FUN catalog states that ECO-HOLMAT is backed by a test and validation report certifying a critical fall height (CFH) of 2.72 m, determined with the product installed on grass as the subgrade.
CFH
2.72 m
Value determined using ECO-HOLMAT installed on a lawn.
UNI EN 1177
ECO-HOLMAT has been tested to EN 1177 for use as a safety surface in playgrounds.
Installation Configuration
The CFH value applies to the configuration being tested; to achieve the expected performance, you must follow the specified installation procedure and use the recommended installation accessories.
06 / Installation
Installation of ECO-HOLMAT on Natural Ground
For installation on soil or grass, the subbase must be prepared by removing rocks, roots, and uneven areas and leveling the surface. After preparing the subgrade, the stabilizing mesh is laid; the ECO-HOLMAT slabs are then laid on top of the mesh, anchored to the ground with stakes, and connected to one another with plastic ties.

Installation System
Netting, stakes, and cable ties
For permanent installation on natural ground, a stabilizing mesh, stakes for anchoring to the ground, and clamps for connecting the slabs are provided.
Substrate Preparation
Remove rocks, roots, and uneven areas to create a level surface.
Stabilizing Net
Place the mesh so that it is in direct contact with the prepared substrate.
Stakes and cable ties
Anchor the slabs to the ground and connect their edges to one another.
For temporary use or on artificial surfaces, the catalog recommends simply laying the slabs side by side, connected to one another.
